The scene that Vermeer who seemed to have a glimpse of a one scene to have musical accompaniment peacefully secretly liked. I take time while a man flips a lute, and a woman plays a harpsichord while another woman has score and sing. It is natural in the work which featured the theme of a performance among other things and is the painting of an indoor scene with the close atmosphere. The music had relation that they were close to culture in the Netherlands in the 17th century, and the painters at the time used a musical instrument and music to express love. For Vermeer, it is indicated that the scene with the music was imminent.

Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum (Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum)

The art museum characterized by the courtyard among a Venice Palace-style building in United States Boston and beautiful corridors. It was a private residence of Isabella Stewart Mrs. Gardner which was the founder originally. A picture, a sculpture, various collections including accessories which I collected are possessed by Europe, Asia, the United States.

Isabella Stewart Mrs. Gardner purchased "the ensemble" of Vermeer for 6,000 dollars at auction of Paris in 1891 and was displayed in the Netherlands room on the second floor of the art museum. An empty frame is just displayed in the place where the picture which I had stolen as a desired symbol to pray for the return of the work now was decorated at the same time as a will of Mrs. Gardner "which you move all works and must not rearrange" is respected.
