"Woman Standing in Front of Van Gogh's 'Sunflowers'"
Around 1920 70.5*50.5cm Van Gogh Museum, the Netherlands
The Otsuka Museum of Art has created a full-scale ceramic reproduction of "Woman Standing before Sunflowers by Vincent Van Gogh," a painting by Isaac Israels (1865-1934), a representative Dutch Impressionist painter, and added it to its permanent exhibit on March 30, Van Gogh's birthday.

Jo, the wife of Theo, the younger brother of Van Gogh (1853-1890), lent "Sunflowers" to Israels, who was a special friend, free of charge for 3 years (1918-1920). "Sunflowers" was displayed in the living room of Israels' home in The Hague, Netherlands, where he lived at the time, and depicts a woman gazing at the painting while smoking a cigarette. It can be seen as a homage to Van Gogh, who had a great influence on him.

Van Gogh painted 7 "Sunflowers" in vases, and the one that appears in Israels' painting is said to be the 4th. The National Gallery in London purchased it from his wife Jo in 1924.
